What it’s like on a BHP Training Course

What a fab day we all had at the Wonderful Chicheley Hall near Milton Keynes. Richard & I arrived the night before & set up the room for our morning session. Very much looking forward to a great day of teaching with the course full at 12 delegates.

At 9am the following day everyone started to arrive. Over coffee we were all introduced to eachother with every one keen to get going we moved into the training room for our am session.

Going over everything from wedding shows, business, wedding packages to structure of a wedding photographically to using daylight & flash. As much info as I could have passed on in this couple of hour session!! After lunch we hit the shooting as our couple had arrived, Steve & Tanya. Firstly looking at daylight and using exposure compensation to make emotive looking images. Working inside in one of the conference rooms using mainly 50mm & some window light...

We then moved on to shooting some action shots with the couple moving. Before we did a big flash shot with the Hall in the background..

Quickly moving on we headed for a nearby field where we looked at shallow depth of field shooting into the sun & how to produce a quick sillouette. Everyone got enough time with the models ( well as much as you can on a course! ) It is important for me as a trainer for people to shoot and get great shots but also for people to learn as much as they can from me otherwise there is no point coming on a course! Learning is more important then  filling your camera.

After shooting at the church attached to the Hall we headed on inside for a much needed drink and break. After which we looked at using flash indoors to create a beautiful soft portrait. Using Elinchrom ELB 400 pack and speedlights.

A great was had by all & I thank everyone for coming to Chicheley Hall for the day. We got through as much as we could in a day, there is always more to go through for sure but we covered so much! We are super happy after a long break to be heading back to Chicheley this year for another fabulous day of training!
